When my Netflix disc has fingerprints on it, I can't stop thinking about who they belong to and whether that person liked the movie.

I usually end up missing the first 10 minutes of the movie.

I usually clean the disc and then wash my hands. I don't think I really want to know how much bacteria is on rental discs. Ewww. ;-)

Well, I guess it also depends on what movie you're about to watch....

Oh my! I didn't mean it like that! HA! I meant if you're watching Steel Magnolias you might not have as many germs as if you're watching the kid's favorite Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

Remember the mantra from the VHS era? - "Be Kind, Please Rewind"? I think Netflix should create something similar. Here's a recommendation: "Be Kind, please wash the gunk that you just put on the disc because you're too lazy to handle it by its edges. Do you treat all your DVDs this way or just those that aren't yours?" I know it's not as catchy, but it could be effective.
