I can see it now. Firemen carrying my children out of my burning house.

My kids telling them, "No. No. That alarm is just the sound the house makes when our mom cooks."

That cracks me up and reminds me of a note my dad actually sent to the high school attendance office.

Please excuse Lisa's tardyness. She cooked breakfast this morning and the fire department just left.

It never happened - he was just making up another excuse for her cronic lateness. Ha.

we have a magical oven at my house that allows you to burn the outside of your food without cooking the inside.
the fire alarm going off indicated "the house thinks your food is overdone, but it's really not quite there, unless you average out the crust and core temperatures"
