This string hanging down from the wall in your hospital room's bathroom is an emergency call string, not an "old fashioned toilet flusher."

You might want to remind your 8-year old of this several times if he is ever in the hospital for a week.

(Thanks for checking in on my week hiatus. I was in the hospital with my son. He was diagnosed with Lyme, but we're home and on the road to recovery!)

Amy,

Sorry to hear about the pumpkin. Make sure you are taking care of yourself during this trial.

This too shall pass.

Is this what happened after my wedding??? I was diagnosed with Lyme disease once, but it turned out I actually was just allergic to hair dye. True story.

I am so sorry to hear that!!! I'm glad he's doing better.

Funny, I was also in the hospital with my son for almost a week when he was 8 yrs. old - fun sleeping on those cots!

Thanks for your well wishes. He's doing better, though Lyme Meningitis is really rough at times. I am very thankful that it turned out to be something they could diagnose and treat and he will recover. Many parents would feel very lucky to be in my shoes.
